Through creativity and innovation, Chip Tullar has created an unparalleled hospitality industry in Grand Rivers, Ky. As founder and business owner of Patti’s Enterprises, LLC, ReMax Dreamworld Properties, and Mrs. Patti’s Inn & Suites, he has facilitated the development of Grand Rivers into an unequalled village to visit, community in which to live, and environment in which to work. His accomplishments as a restaurateur, realtor, and author, have established him as a highly respected public figure in the Western Kentucky business community.
Inspired by Walt Disney, Tullar sees himself as a person who wasn’t supposed to succeed, but did - despite the discouragement of others throughout his life, including a teacher. A self described “eccentric person,” Tullar loves life and enjoys the ability to get up every day and make a difference in the lives of others. He describes his personal mission statement as “Whoever walks into my world, I want them to feel their life was a little better because of me.”
Ask Chip Tullar what he is most proud of and he is very clear – it’s his long time partnership with Michael Lee Grimes. For 35 years they have worked as a team, serving as role models to employees, working seven days a week, and helping to build dreams for themselves and others. Tullar and Grimes are co-founders of Patti’s 1880s Settlement, Dreamworld Properties, and Miss Patti’s Inn & Suites. Tullar also credits his hardworking, loving parents with his success. Describing his father as “a marketing genius” and his mother as “a marvelous cook, and hostess” Tullar is dedicated to keeping the family’s dream alive. “We welcome people into our home and make sure it is a memory for each person. We create memories.”
Tullar would like the opportunity to introduce himself to people from out of town. “In my tiny town, I am well-known” Tullar says. “I watch the traffic – the people walking by, and realize I’m a big part of that happening. The future of Grand Rivers is unimaginable.” He would like to partner with others who share his same vision of Grand Rivers becoming the number one tourist attraction in the state of Kentucky.
