Grand Rivers is a wonderfully quaint walking community nestled between the shores of the twin giant Lakes, Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. We have top notch marina resorts on each lake and we are lucky enough to be just north of the only waterway that joins these two behemoth bodies of water which makes our tiny town a peninsula. To emphasize the point, we have the finest sailing and boating waters between the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico (minus the horrific winters and the horrifying hurricanes). Boaters have access to the world through the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the Gulf of Mexico and The St. Lawrence Seaway to the Atlantic Ocean.

| If you love the water way of life, you should plan a trip to Grand Rivers today! Our 350 residents welcome you. If you lived here, literally in your back yard you'd find over 250,000 acres of placid lakes and about 3,000 miles of shoreline to explore, scant population so you don't have to fight crowds and a federal recreation area comprising 180,000 acres dedicated to camping, hiking, biking, environmental education and even hunting (in season). We all love living here -- and some of us enjoy visiting the city occasionally: easy interstate highway access to Nashville, Memphis, Evansville, St. Louis, Louisville and even Chicago and Atlanta if you don't mind driving a little further. If you'd like to experience life awash in peace and tranquility, you'd enjoy it here too. |
